John began his building career at age 6 when he put a little shelf kit together for his mother.
The scope of the projects may have grown, but the care and diligence that go into every one is the same.
John began building in the Stuyvesant High School theater. After rising to Stage Manager he went off to college where he worked for a local builder part time. Ironically John began building professionally in Paris, France as a guest worker in 1995. After a year building cabinets and bars on Rue Moufftard he moved back to New York City where he built out “Von” bar 33 Bleeker St. Later he worked as the lead carpenter for KCC Construction Co. and with them built out bars and restaurants such as “Torch”, “Idlewilde” , “Den of Thieves” , “The S.T. Bar” And “The White Rabbit”. His work has been published in Architectural Digest.
In 1999 and 2000 John spent some time on the Island of Guanaja off the coast of Honduras, to do relief construction work after Hurricane Mitch.
John moved to central Texas in 2003 and has been in love with it ever since.
With the exception of all the carpentry for “Dominican Joe Coffee Shop”, John’s work in Texas has been residential.
He lives in Estepona Malaga, Spain with his wife and their two children.
